Awesome project! I'm glad I could inspire you to get it out on the workbench again.

Mine'll be going nowhere very fast just as it's been doing for over twelve years running. ;)

Things of interest for @jorg @vorg project.
-- closeup lenses for short-throw of image
-- pin-cushion distortion induced image correction for field curvature of backside of CRT
-- front surface mirror from (thrifted) overhead projector

Optical unit swings out from the back for ceiling projection through opening in bucket top for gaming

Projector unit only tilts out and back for use as a DVD/5.1 projection TV.

Last page still has intact pics of the 10" Color CRT Classic BenchMac project someone asked about.

I agree on the short throw. It is the development path nowadays with projectors. Those cost $2k or so. Imagine if my SE/30 and SE sitting next to me happens to project on a wall bigger than the 9" screen. :)

Were you able to make that work yet to project on the wall, @Trash80toG4?

Not out on bench, It's been front and center of the AppleDisplayUnit for all these years. The pics were snagged off the iFrog album from which they were originally linked. Probably lost a lot of related pics from the upgrade/great pixel robbery and then disappearing cache disasters at the MLA. Sometimes I wish I'd never uploaded directly.

I've never used it as a projector, only for this project so far. Unfortunately it sounds like its powered by turbo-jet. @vorg How quiet is your projector and how much does a cheap one go for these days?
