Help with CRT image on Macintosh Classic I

Yay! Thankfully none of my old compact Macs have a screen geometry problem, but if one does, I've learned a lot from this thread!

Help with CRT image on Macintosh Classic I

That’s unfortunate that adjusting the controls themselves didn’t work. Good luck adjusting the yoke, and hopefully that fixes it!

Help with CRT image on Macintosh Classic I

I just realized that I was probably wrong in telling you where your focus, height, and width adjustments were! I was thinking about my Macintosh collection, not including the Classic, which all have those adjustments inside the case. Apparently, there's a service panel that can be removed to...

Help with CRT image on Macintosh Classic I

I'm not really an expert on CRTs, but a quick Google search suggests that adjusting the deflection yoke might fix your problem. Just to be sure however, maybe try adjusting three of the four variable resistors accessible on the side of the analog board facing outwards from the machine first...

Help with CRT image on Macintosh Classic I

Are you testing it without the back case on? I've noticed that when I test my Mac Plus without it's back shell on, the image becomes somewhat distorted, maybe with some ripples. Was it doing this before you recapped it?

The BlueSCSI Project: Replacing My Dead Quantum ProDrive

Today, I stuck another hard drive in the IIx, along with another high-density floppy drive. The hard drive I put in is an old Rodime 20MB hard drive from my external Rodime drive enclosure that was designed for the Macintosh Plus. One or two of the capacitors in that enclosure had failed, and...

The BlueSCSI Project: Replacing My Dead Quantum ProDrive

I'm very sorry if my description of the problem wasn't great, but I could tell that the platters were in fact spinning. I could hear a loud, continuous whir, and after a second boot attempt the drive would work. It was only after I opened the drive and clumsily dropped my pick in that the...

The BlueSCSI Project: Replacing My Dead Quantum ProDrive

I think I was a bit unlucky with my attempt, since I couldn't get the screw under the warranty label out but had already broken the seal.

The BlueSCSI Project: Replacing My Dead Quantum ProDrive

Do you know the voltages that I should be expecting from the logic board?

The BlueSCSI Project: Replacing My Dead Quantum ProDrive

I'm pretty new to this sort of emulation, so what exactly does this mean? What can this do differently, as opposed to using a BlueSCSI that is not network enabled? Sorry if this question is pretty stupid...

Who's Going to VCF Swap Meet at InfoAge in June?

Unfortunately, as the swap meet is getting closer, it is starting to look like I will not be able to go... It's a decently long drive, and the planning just isn't working out. Wish I could be there!

The BlueSCSI Project: Replacing My Dead Quantum ProDrive

Hey, I know it's been a while since I've visited this site, but I was wondering: what does using Wi-Fi with a BlueSCSI look like? What does it do? I do plan on buying an unassembled BlueSCSI kit from JCM soon (probably two, since I am aiming on recapping and cleaning up my SE FDHD in the near...

The BlueSCSI Project: Replacing My Dead Quantum ProDrive

That's pretty interesting! That would explain why the IIx doesn't have a DB-19 port on the back. I just assumed that since emulating a hard drive running MacOS 7.1 on the BMOW Floppy Emulator was possible on my Mac Plus (and maybe my SE FDHD, I can't remember) from the rear DB-19 connector, it...

LC III recapped. I get a chime on boot, static after

My LC II makes a startup chime, followed by a loud feedback sound. I noticed that I can adjust the pitch by wiggling a chip that is in the path of some corrosion. Since you cleaned your motherboard (and the LC III is pretty different from the LC II), our problems are probably unrelated, but I...

The BlueSCSI Project: Replacing My Dead Quantum ProDrive

Quick update, the BMOW Floppy Emulator idea I had didn't work. I feel pretty stupid.
