I never fixed the scanner freezing as soon as I moved the selector to regular 8mm. I could switch back to super 8 and it worked fine even without power cycling. I ended up ordering a new unit from Amazon. I took most of the guts out of each unit and swapted them, and returned the new case...

I was only suggesting the D stock firmware because you already have a unit that cannot function. I have a D unit myself. There is different hardware in the D units compared to the older ones. As far as I know (could be wrong though) people who have flashed the wrong versions were able to...

Have you tried installing the D stock firmware? It cannot hurt anything at this point.

Thank you melw! This drop (605) works great on my D unit with the lense mod. I can tell the quality of the scan is better, and a lot larger (file size) than the previous D mod firmware. I have not tried your latest release, but I only use 32G cards and I format the cards in the Reels scanner...

I believe the stock "D" firmware is downloadable in post 143.

I did not open up the unit for the lens mod. I removed the old lens and sercured the ribbon cable out of the way. Then used a hobby knife to very carefully score the plastic until I could work it back and forth to "snap" the plastic I needed to remove. The knife never went all the way through...

This is what my model D records now on regular 8mm. It does Super 8mm just fine. Any ideas? I have already done the lens mod, but it was working about a week before this happened. It shows this, or some other type of corruption even if there is no SD card in the scanner.

New issue now. When I switch to 8mm from Super 8mm, the screen corrupts and will not show anything in the capture section of the menu in the preview mode or in capture mode. If I back out of capture mode, the screen returns to normal and all menu options work as they should. Have flashed...
