When I did a custom install of just the SCSI network driver in an emulator running OS 9, it didn't appear to cause any problems. The "Alternate Ethernet" driver appeared in the TCP/IP control panel as expected. I don't have the hardware to test it to see if it actually works though.
Separate tip: A reminder that you can view items in Extensions Manager "by Package" to easily see and disable any outdated items that an installer has installed. I didn't see anything like this when I custom installed just the SCSI driver mentioned above.
Looks like the instructions are listed here for Open Transport...

Doing a custom install of just the SCSIlink driver is probably your safest bet. Looking at the install disk, it...
So I have an original iPod and I am wondering if I should open it and remove the original lithium ion battery. I currently am not using it. It's just on display. I worry that the original battery might damage it over time, especially if it decides to expand? Am I worried about nothing?
There was at one time sotware that would let you read commodore 3.5" floppies on a Mac. I used it to grab some old Koala paint images and text files for a friend.

That was a really fascinating document. Thank you so much for sharing it. You can tell that the people that worked on this really cared about the user experience. I am thankful that yellow and blue ended up sharing the same finder. And that blue did not end up running in a window.
With all the retro stuff that has come out for older Macs, like replacement ROMS, power, supply adapters, etc. — I’m surprised no one has made a firewire thumb drive. I have so many old Macs with unused fire wire ports. ☹️
Pretty sure the combo Wi-Fi and Bluetooth board in my G5 iMac is failing. Wondering which USB dongle you might recommend to get the best performance that would still work under leopard? Thanks in advance.
That dock on the right looks familiar. I believe this was something that was worked on for Copland at one point. There was even a third party shareware implementation you could download (though I can't remember the name of it).
I love these things. Such a cool "futuristic" device back when it was released. The docks have a tendency to fail, so I hope you are successful in repairing it!!
