Sad SE/30 video error and no sound

Ultrasonic Cleaning didn't change anything. So I decided to take off the sound chip again and put it back on (from a different logic board known to have sound). Now I get this... But only when hitting interrupt/reset Any ideas please?

    SE/30 Y3 Crystal Replacement Recommendation?

Greetings, Wondering if someone can help me to replace the Y3 Crystal one of my three broken SE/30 boards I'm trying to repair. Afraid that the legs just couldn't take an ultrasonic cleaning and broke off right at the base; I tried replacing it with one of these...

Making a replacement Hinge for a 15" Studio Display

I can happily report that after tensioning the springs on the monitor hinge everything is working great! I will be posting the second aluminum piece I had created by shapeway for sale at cost $62.77 US in the North America Trading Post Section of the forums. Just be aware that it will likely...

Sad IIsi chime with no video

Thanks Kai! So would the RBV explain why I get a sad mac death chime if memory is installed? Or would this be just for the video not displaying?

Sad IIsi chime with no video

Hi Folks! So a friend asked me to take a look at a Mac IIsi he had purchased a while back. Unfortunately the board has been damaged by a previous recapping job gone bad. There were multiple missing pads and trace breaks when he brought it to me so I told him I would do my best to try to fix...

    SE/30 Logic Board Video Issue

I have been using the Matrix in the Macintosh SE_30 Schematics redrawn with Matrix file that CayMac Vintage linked me to work on my battery bombed SE/30. You could check the connections for the data lines and address lines to make sure everything is connected correctly. In my case...

Making a replacement Hinge for a 15" Studio Display

Ended up being $125.55US with shipping for two units printed in aluminum. Assuming it's just a spring tension issue and the unit itself isn't at fault I'll sell the second one for cost and try to recoup some money.

Making a replacement Hinge for a 15" Studio Display

Alright folks I was finally out to my brother in law's place and we did the final assembly on this version of the part. Here's my impressions of this version: 1) Depending on the print its going to fit either just right or be every slightly too tight. I bought two pieces from Shapeways using...

Have an International 630-0108 Analog board that someone wants to convert to 120v

Just in case anyone else has the same question I did; yes all you need to do is add a wire jumper to W12 and the analog board will run at 120V instead of 240V. I finally just added the wire and tested the voltage. Mac boots up fine now.

Have an International 630-0108 Analog board that someone wants to convert to 120v

Hey there, So recently someone asked me to racap a couple macs for him. No problem there but he also asked me to figure out why his one Mac Plus wouldn't turn on properly. As soon as he brought it over it was easy to see the issue, on the back of the unit in clear text was written 220-240V well...

Sad SE/30 video error and no sound

Will try that next and then go through the cheat sheet again to make sure everything is still connected after the removal and cleaning of the sound chip.

Sad SE/30 video error and no sound

That should prove very useful if I end up bringing out the oscilloscope. Just need to learn how to use it now lol

Sad SE/30 video error and no sound

Yes CayMac showed me this one and I originally used it to diagnose and fix the video issue. I've gone through it for the audio section as well and nothing appears to be broken. I'll do another pass on it now that I've removed, cleaned, and reattached the sound chip to make sure nothing is...

Just arrived from Shapeways. Bit rough in texture but not too bad. Now I just need to get to my brother-in-laws place so he can help me finish them up!
