Got a replacement from OWC, and this one works perfectly. Guess it was just a bad stick!

I was able to test with a different clamshell, and the RAM still shows up as 64MB. Seems like it's most likely a bad stick, although this is the first time I've seen this exact issue. I've contacted OWC to ask for a replacement.

I'm ignorant of how graphics fully works on a Mac, but it could work like something that accepts QuickDraw commands and then draws based on that, right? Oof, that's pretty expensive haha. Does going from 0 to 4 require a mod to the board? It sounds 255/0/3 were each revisions to the board, and 4 is just a bug fix to 3?

Looks like Apple Rescue of Denver has several in stock at $200, which seems more than fair. I haven't dealt with them before but I think I've heard good things about them - anyone able to vouch? And ROM 0 is the one I'd want, correct...

Oh I'm totally fine with C, I just never bothered to use C++, and at this point I've gotten so used to garbage collection and not dealing with pointers I haven't had the motivation to learn it.
