Fair point, ive always put the springs back in manually and then slid the clutch in. But, if you divide the springs the way you have, then yeah that sleeve has to pull out the other springs or it wont slide out. The idea I had was bunch up the springs at one end and put the sleeve on the other...

CRTs have a maximum deflection angle. usually from 70 to 110 degrees or so. The yokes are matched to the CRT, because if not youd get strange behavior. For example, using a narrow deflection yoke on a wide deflection CRT would result in the picture being too small and not fill the screen...

Yoke is slid too far back. the CRT neck is blocking the beam, or the wrong yoke is installed and it has the incorrect deflection angle.

The Portable is a unique beast because all the voltage regulators take its reference point at the battery, and NOT the AC Adapter unlike the PB100 and newer. So the battery itself becomes the reference and also the battery becomes part of the regulation loop. If its out, well... the 1.5A AC...

I ended up fixing this machine, and the more I dove into it, the more I realized that I think someone shoved a 12V or even a 19V adapter onto this thing and blew it all up. Even the inverter had a blown winding in the transformer.
