We're a week away from VCF East and frankly, I'm counting down the days.

I'll be there with the Pittsburgh Classic Mac Lab. I won't be getting in until very late on Friday night, so I'll be setting up Saturday morning but will be there the rest of the way.

There will be networked Oregon Trail (Wagon Train 1848), color ribbon ImageWriters to print your Kid Pix drawings on, one of a kind classics like Hot Dog Stand and Dinosaur Days and Spell-A-Saurus, the infamous Igloo CoolTunes that will be playing your favorite jams from 1992 (and a few from the immediate years prior), Number Munchers (study your primes!!!!), and more.

I'll be sharing one of my tables with Amiga of Rochester, so be sure to check out his display as well (you can also check out his recap work at my table, as he did almost all of my computers).

If you want some new Macs, I have a thread that's currently pending in the trading post. I have a boxed Plus and possibly an unboxed Plus and an SE for sale if there is interest. I can also toss some parts in my car.

The big question...do I try to snag a toner cartridge this week and bring the LaserWriter along?

Last but not least...if you ever wanted to see efficient packing, look for the white Acura ILX that will be filled to the gills with Macs in the lot before or after the show...

I'll be there in spirit!
:)

Honestly, I wish there was a high tech way to attend these without actually being there. I've given up on teleportation becoming reality, but perhaps something more down-to-earth-in-2025, like renting a robot (Optimus?) for the show that could be controlled remotely by someone wearing headset like Vision Pro. It would be spooky, frightening, and VERY COOL at the same time. No substitute for a physical presence there, to be sure, but a fine way for those of us who live outside the USA and who have 43 quadrillion reasons why we attend the shows.

I'm going, first retro computing gathering for me! Anyone have tips on how to get the most out of it?
I look through the schedule and try to make an itinerary of talks/classes/etc that I want to attend ahead of time...allotting time for just wandering around the exhibitors of course. I will tell you that people will start lining up early Saturday morning to wait for the consignment area to open. We'll also probably go to this arcade Friday or Saturday night: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Udk27s4ALaSMJVDy6

along with what Kenny said,

the campus that VCF East is on is really cool with a bunch of independent museums, so I highly recommend taking some time to explore. Military vehicles, TV & Radio museum, theres a model railroad layout there, a shipwreck museum.

And also...I really appreciate it when people write their forum/online name on their badge/nametag at these events so we can say hi to people we may have only ever "met" online. If anyone recognizes my name, I hope you'll introduce yourself and say hi :)

I will be vicariously living through everyone’s pictures and videos. The Amiga side of things looks like it is going to be a quite special 40th celebration.
