My vintage Mac and LC475 has poor video and on top of this it's capacitors are ALL leaking, causing damage to the machine! So we need to get into this machine urgently, to get those caps replaced and then find a fix for its ailing video output! Oh, and for good measure, we'll "overclock" it from 25MHz to 40MHz!

Hello Retronaut! You have a beautiful machine on your hands! For the leaky capacitors I did something a little guilty that some Mac users have done - I did the old wash it in the sink and let it air dry, removed all the memory, scsi cable battery etc, and some rubbing alcohol. Don't take my advice though lol. It bought me 3 months 😄

As for your video issue you could try some rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and clean the pins in the vram slots and try reinserting them, or you might have some bad video ram soldered or sticks.

Fun paragraph ! - Overclocking you could do the resistor swap, if you don't want to mess with that you could try a overclocking application and extension called Control Strip 475 OverClock. You can download it right from the Macintosh Garden. Best of luck 😎

Hey, thanks for the response. Well, it appears the horse has already bolted... I. mean, that bolt text about is a link to the video where I actually re-cap the entire logic board, and also an Apple IIe card.

I have tried the Soft overclock software, originally using an older version 0.5.2 but more recently the latest release 1.0.4 and it works well, though I DID find that the Apple IIe card wont run when the overclock is set to 40MHz, though 33 did work. Yes, its a fun machine. I need to spend some time now, loading it up with software BOTH for the Mac and also the Apple II (on a card :) )
