Hello everyone, first time poster here.

I am looking for help in getting an Asante MacCON+ LC NIC to work with my LC475.
I have connected through an RJ45 cable and tried a 10/100 Switch assuming that the link negotiation would be an issue. I don't know if it is.
Only the green LED comes on. I am running System 8.1. The adapter is detected. Some of the diagnostics pass, others fail. Assigning static & DHCP IP address does not work.
Here are some screenshots and photos of the adapter in question.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Is there any hope in recovering?

The model name is : Asante MacCON+ LC rev. D (09-00501-00 rev. D)

Thank you
Michael

Thank you. In your case, you made the resistor modifications to enable a mode change to 10Base half-duplex?

Apologies if you already know/did this, but did you check your AppleTalk and TCP/IP Control panels are set to Ethernet and not the default LocalTalk and MacIP settings?

Hi Fizzbinn, no worries, I’m learning as I go. I think I did this but I just checked again on a new install of System 7.6. Those are good suggestions.

TCP/IP set to Ethernet with a static IP
AppleTalk gives me “An error occurred attempting to use Ethernet.
Make sure your network connections are correct.”

any more ideas?

in my case, yes, the fix was this easy to adjust a timer. But it looks like you have a later revision of this series of NICs which will require a different solution .. if, indeed, this is the problem.
