Hi there Tinkerers, thought i'd share something i worked on for a while.

Since i started servicing classic mac's, and especially colour classic machines, I've always been annoyed that it is so hard to measure anything in-situ, while powered on.

So when i got a LC575 in with plastics that had the integrity of biscuits, snapping when you think of touching it, and a motherboard nuked with battery acid I thought, this could well become a test stand.

I still had 2 aluminium extrusion "legs" and i decided to design and 3D print all the needed pieces to mount the CRT, analog board and motherboard.

The result is a test rack allowing me to measure while running the computer both the analog and motherboard are accessible for measurements, saving me time in repairs.

if anyone wants the 3D files, just say the word and ill upload them

What, no carry handle or swingout mounts for the scope and meter?

Seriously, that is one amazing creation, I love it just the way it is.

* hope the featuritis joke doesn't fall flat. ;)

Haha, well honestly i am looking for a power meter that i can add, to keep an eye on power consumption. I suggest that to anyone fixing these things, its really handy to know what's going on, power consumption tells you if its in STBY, running well, or over-consuming due to a fault, a few watts difference and you know something is up. at power up it will take about 250-300W to degauss, don't let that scare you. Idle is about 12W (!!) a running CC will take around 55W if you have a Bluescsi, more if you have a HDD, should not exceed 65W.
