    Any interest in Palm Pilots?

If you know Lua, Plua is a great little scripting engine. Works well on 68K and ARM Palms.

PCjr picture going a bit funny

Those monitors are also subject to bad solder joins. I had something similar happen with mine. The length of time makes me wonder about thermal expansion making an iffy connection worse.

Pulled FPU from an Asante… can you do anything with it?

This is a bit of an oversimplification, but an easy discriminator is QFPs have pins on the sides and PGAs have pins underneath. The good news is you can't easily harm them by accidentally putting one in the wrong socket; even if they fit they won't make any connections.

Apple Network Server MacOS based ROMs found

No, onboard graphics and internal fast SCSI do not work in the 1.1.20.1 ROM. It looks like @johntucker 's 2.0 ROMs are the only ones that support this. Since you mentioned the 2.2b6 and 2.26NT ROMs are very similar, I checked to see if the 2.26NT ROM will start /AAPL,ROM and it will not, not...

Apple Network Server MacOS based ROMs found

I didn't use an nvramrc to boot Mac OS on 1.1.20.1, it mostly just worked with the BYE command. It requires a supported video card, it will only boot from the external SCSI (so you'll need an external CD-ROM and/or CD images) and I'm currently investigating issues with Ethernet, though I haven't...

Apple Network Server MacOS based ROMs found

I pulled my test 700 from storage over the weekend and rehabilitated it (bad CPU card, bad slides on the logic board drawer). With that running, I received the NT ROM from @dbinreno and today was able to dump it. I attempted a naive boot directly from my Windows NT 4 CD-ROM and while SETUPLDR...

First official C64 in 36 years

I have Mega65 in an FPGA board. It's pretty cool, but I still ended up using the 128 more.

Hope so. I decided not to buy a basic beige - I'm treating this as a successor to the 64, and I think it should look accordingly. The Founders edition seemed most appropriate.

    MCL68+ A Motorola 68000 drop-in emulator

I posted this over at VCF, but I enjoyed the pencil kick stand. :)

Got an E-mail from New-Commodore saying that Founders Edition units ship in February. We'll see how they compare to the Starlight units.

Need solution for HDI-45 to DB-15 connectors for video out

Sounds like there might be a new patch coming, based on @wottle's post above yours?

First official C64 in 36 years

Yes, all true, but specifically for the Mac that was in the days of the Atari ST (the "Jackintosh" as they called it). Tramiel, much less Bob Yannes, never compared the Mac's sound (or speech output, for that matter) to the 64's. I'm not sure if he would have if he'd been at Commodore longer...

No argument, but this is not exactly an Apples to apples comparison, to be sure.

    My very first NeXTStation

Had a friend working at SAIC for awhile, but he was the only one I knew from there, and I don't think he was ever on the hardware side. I got my two Galaxys second-hand as chance finds. They're just so much fun to use.

Which release of Rhapsody was that? Very impressed to hear it works. That label is fantastic to see. Also, sent you a PM.

    Stewart Cheifet, Sept. 24, 1938 ~ Dec. 28, 2025

Loved Computer Chronicles as a kid (early 1980s, with him and Gary Kildall). Didn't understand a lot of it back then but loved it.

Yeah, I broke down and pre-ordered a Founders Edition. I suppose it's part of the history now, and I do like that it's very self-contained. Never enjoyed the 64's original keyboard, I agreed with people who called it "overinflated." I prefer the 128 keyboard, but then, I also just prefer the...

    1400 power supply recommendation?

I've had good luck using an iBook G3 power supply, and those almost grow on trees. (That said, my regular 1400 uses the stock supplied power supply most of the time.)

8-bit Boléro (The World's Most Ambitious Chiptune?)

The instruments and the virtuosity are all great, but I love how he does it all in a tux (and even varies his neckwear).
