    Red Ryder questions, unpacking software

Another option would be to set up the BasiliskII emulator on your Mac Mini (or modern Mac), install Stuffit Expander v5.5 on there, unstuff ZTerm, then copy ZTerm to a blank 800k disk image (which you can download online), then copy that disk image to your FloppyEmu. EDIT: I just did it for ya...

    Red Ryder questions, unpacking software

Thanks for the link. I fired up QL II and quickly realized that I haven't updated the ASCII portion of the BBS in way too long! I couldn't get downloads to work at all with my wimodem232. So I fired up ZTerm and could only get ZModem protocol to work for downloads...

    Red Ryder questions, unpacking software

Try "AT?" and see if there's any way to turn raw mode on and telnet mode off. You could also send me QLII (transfer it to your Mac mini and zip up the files) and I could see if it works with my wimodem232. Unfortunately I can't find QLII on the net. Most of the .sit files on Macintosh Garden...

I'd transfer ZTerm from your Mac Mini to your SE and see if it's your terminal program.

I've never used Kermit and it doesn't look like a very advanced terminal program so you probably can't even d/l via YMODEM... I've never used QLII either, and I can't find it anywhere on the internet to try it out. Try downloading using the other protocols like XMODEM. Some wifi modems also...

    Red Ryder questions, unpacking software

You'd be better off with a gurumodem, which allows you to FTP from the modem to your modern computer, save files to its SD card, then download via XMODEM or ZMODEM to your SE with your terminal program. I used this setup for quite a while before I set up a netatalk file server. You could also...

    Color Mac SE Project!

I had an empty Mac SE case sitting around doing nothing and recently ran across Jesse Argenbright's conversion of an SE with a Mac mini on FaceBook. I thought I could do something very similar - I already had a Raspberry Pi 3, Wombat ADB to USB converter, a USB hub, and a 3D printer so I was a...

    IIgs Expansion Card Recommendations

Yes, I use AFPBridge (https://sheumann.github.io/AFPBridge/) to get on my netatalk file server and print over my network to a PostScript-capable printer using Direct Connect PostScript Printer Driver (DCPPD) for GS/OS 6.0.x (http://www.apple2works.com/directconnectpostscriptdriver/) and...

    IIci logic board issue

Thanks for taking a look, but no solder balls - it must be some sort of artifact in the picture. It sounds like the soft power circuit has nothing to do with getting the gray screen, so I'm off to look closer at the audio circuit where the reset signal is sent.

    IIci logic board issue

Good eye, but it looks like it's just a superficial scratch - the traces check out fine.

    IIci logic board issue

Hey guys, I recently acquired a IIci that just gives me a gray screen upon boot. I've got 12V and 5V at the HD power connector, so I'm assuming the PS is good. The board has some corrosion in the expected places near the surface caps, and C10, C13, and the IC at UD13 basically fell off with a...

The wire actually goes from the fourth connector to the LED. But your solution works too! :)

    Macintosh IIsi Success Story

Nice restoration! I recently restored one and had a break in the 12V rail as well. As you probably already know, it's fairly simple to increase the speed to 25 MHz by swapping out a 50 MHz oscillator.

Easy way to transfer files to and from iMac G3?

If your iMac G3 has internet access you can use my remote file server (running A2SERVER) at afp://classicmac.ddns.net. Your modern MacBook Air should be able to connect to it too so you can move files back and forth.
