I decided I wanted a WarpSE accelerator. This is what I did to get one.

As I stated earlier the person who built these for me wants to stay out of the discussion. A visual inspect of previous PCBs from GitHub and/or the WarpSE thread here would have to be searched to find the exact one that was used. My only intent here was show that getting one of these is possible.

I decided I wanted a WarpSE accelerator. This is what I did to get one.

The only thing I can relay is that the WarpSE after it was built using the latest PCB did not work according to the person that built it for me. I trust what they had to say. It only worked after reverting to a previous PCB revision.

I decided I wanted a WarpSE accelerator. This is what I did to get one.

I heard back from the user that did the build and at this point they would prefer to stay out of the discussion. I understand their reasons. They did point out that all the information is publicly available and someone else should be able to replicate what has been done by them.

Thanks @JDW for those kind and encouraging words. I am so glad this has brought some happiness to you today given what you have been through lately. As to details of the build, since I did not build the WarpSE I have I can only offer a suggestion. It should be possible to compare the boards I...

I decided I wanted a WarpSE accelerator. This is what I did to get one.

It is regrettable that none ever made it to final production, but at least it is possible to still obtain one and that is a good thing!

I decided I wanted a WarpSE accelerator. This is what I did to get one.

The WarpSE is a 25MHz Motorola 68000 accelerator for the Mac SE. It was intended to be sold through Garrett's Workshop, but both it's development and Garrett's Workshop seemed to have come to an end. Every last product on Garrett's Workshop is out of stock and there hasn't been any update on the...

Hercules InColor Card complete with box and manuals

I have been looking for a Hercules InColor Card for the several years now. They don't come up too often, but I found this one on eBay and it's complete. I don't think it was ever used as there are no wear marks on the ISA connector. I plan on putting this one in a 286 25MHz build that I have...

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

That's good to see that Zane has a public presence, but it does not explain what has happened with this project or the lack of available products at Garrett's Workshop. I do wish Zane all the best in whatever he is doing. For me, I went with a SuperMac Speedcard and going to move on.

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

I would also add one point. Going to Garrett's Workshop on Tindie, there is nothing in stock and some of it has been out of stock for more than a couple of years. There has been no recent activity on making more stock available. Another red flag that something is not right. I hope Zane is Ok...

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

As to the Blue Boxes the two Steves made, I guess you could say they both found their "calling" and the rest is tech history...:)

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

Is there anything legally to stop someone from building their own WarpSE based on what is published on GitHub? Not for resale, but for personal use, just like a BlueSCSI, which is sold (through an authorized reseller) or can be built yourself. The reason I ask is because the WarpSE was intended...

Tandy 1000 RL with a PicoMem

I have always had one issue with the Tandy 1000 RL, with only one expansion slot causing a lack of expandability. The introduction of the PicoMem changes all of that. I finally picked up a Tandy 1000 RL/HD with 768K of ram and decided to to see how well a PicoMem would work. The one down side is...

Why settle for one Tandy 1000 RSX when you can have two...

A 3D printer would not help. It's the stem on the power switch that is broken not the power button. I don't see how a 3D printer would fix that situation, much less with no way to attached it properly. The entire switch would need to be replaced otherwise.
