    The Incredible KIMplement 0.3

A new release of the Incredible KIMplement, a Commodore KIM-1 emulator that runs on your Commodore 64. The KIM-1 is a 1976 single board computer with a 1MHz MOS 6502 CPU, 1K of RAM, six hex LEDs and a keypad, and was one of the first complete systems you could assemble for just a few hundred...

    Howdy y'all

Welcome. I used to assist an elementary school teacher with a classroom full of CoCo 2s and a master CoCo 3. It used Tandy's "cassette network" system to distribute files. Quite a setup. My fraction trainer program was in use there for a number of years.

    iMac G4 Appreciation Thread

I still have a 1.25GHz iMac G4 I use for watching DVDs and playing music in the kitchen, and as a security monitor (I have an old video concentrator for the security cameras). It's a 15", so the arm is still great.

    MacLynx beta 4

Is it still Lynx if we add mouse hotspots, dialogue boxes and scrollbars? I'd argue ... heck yeah! Runs on System 7.0 and up, A/UX compatible. https://oldvcr.blogspot.com/2023/01/maclynx-beta-4-now-with-scrollbars-and.html

    BeOS Install

Sure, go for it! I don't know what it will do on other Macs, though, so they should definitely only use it if necessary.

    BeOS Install

Here is a patched driver for other mute 6500s. Conclusion: there are at least two 6500 versions, and later ones have an external SRS module which requires setting the parallel output bits on the AWACS. https://oldvcr.blogspot.com/2022/12/the-strange-case-of-beos-srs-and-silent.html

About that white goop in power supplies

Sure beats the epoxy old power supplies (notoriously Commodore 8-bit ones) were potted with.

    BeOS Install

We have audio on the internal speakers now. I'm doing some fiddling, but it did require hacking the AWACS driver. It does look like there are internal differences with later Gazelle systems. More soon.

MacOS 9.2 running on a Nintendo Wii with native cpu

I'm wondering if the problem is that the chip is not detected as PowerPC big-endian, and thus it tries to set up the JIT, which actually won't work because current compilers are too *new*. What did the configure sequence detect the CPU as?

MacOS 9.2 running on a Nintendo Wii with native cpu

That surprises me, since SheepShaver's Linux port isn't at all new. What didn't the compiler like?

My first computer was a Tomy Tutor, which is actually closest to the 99/8 (9995, 9918A).
