Mac IIfx no floppy power on Pin 11 x2

Firstly, forgot to say, that good to hear that the IIci has been working well for ya. And, that you finally figured out why your IIfx was not reading floppies. I'd probably run a bodge wire from L13 to the underside of the board. Not ideal, but it'd get the connection fixed.

Did something a little derpy a few days back...

Noticed that all the files on my 10.9.5 partition had a "...fetching" owner entry in the get info dialog box. So, I decided to delete that. Not a good idea, especially since Adobe has killed off the activation servers for CS4. So, I'm now stuck with an unuseable copy of Photoshop that I...

    XServe without a rack?

Yeah, will probably be a lot like a MDD running at full-tilt, noise-wise. Might be another good candidate for an ATX power supply swap.

When Was The Last Time You Dumpster Dove? :)

Haven't personally done it, but a buddy of mine found my old Mac Pro sitting on the curb in his neighborhood. 6GB RAM, 8-core 2.8 GHz early 2008 A1186. No hard drives or drive sleds. Did have a Radeon HD 5770 video card installed. Brought it home, took the 160GB hard drive from the A1181...

    Powermac G4 MDD issues…

Ok, then something else is going on. Almost like the board is in a perpetual reset mode.

    Powermac G4 MDD issues…

Is the AGP slot populated with a card at this time, or are you just using the PCI Rage 128? I doubt that's your issue, but I do know that my old MDD dual 1.25 worked fine last summer with the Rage 128 Pro from my G4 Digital Audio. Said machine is now owned by @xenocide21.

    Managing your collections

Looks good. Lately, I've been using MacTracker on my MBP to inventory my machines. Back when I had my old iPhone 4s (and, previously, 4), I used the old iCollectStuff app that @krye over at the other forums had created. Alas, he lost interest in keeping it updated, so it never got transferred...

    2024 PowerPC Challenge

There's another emulator, that Apple produced back in the early PPC days. Gus 1.0b4. Emulates a ROM 3 IIgs. Even runs the IIgs self-test routine, obviously saying "System Failed" at the end, since the hardware isn't recognized by it.

    IIgs RAM Upgrade help needed!

Ok, so you're stuck with the base 256K RAM. That's enough to at least run ProDOS 16, but, yeah, you'll need to get either the Garret's Workshop card working or pick up another RAM card to have enough for GS/OS.

    IIgs RAM Upgrade help needed!

What ROM version are you using? I'm not sure if the GW cards need an upgrade to be used with a ROM 3 machine, like the Applied Engineering cards do. If they do, and you're using a ROM 3 (sounds like you may be using a ROM 01 or 00 machine), that might cause the issues you're noticing. My...

Poll - Extending the term length of the board

Yeah, it died in 2019 or so. LCGuy (the admin over there) was mostly running it out of his own pocket and offered it up to the rest of the forum, but no one else came forward to take it over. So, it went away.

Poll - Extending the term length of the board

^There was also the group of people who left 68kMLA back in early-mid 2014, after the administrators there were doing decisions that the group didn't like. One of those members formed the old ThinkClassic forum, which I moved over to, since I found it to have less drama and a more informal...

Need Advice: I Want To Add An SSD To My G4 Mirror Door & Install OS 9 On It

Early MDD machines were FW400. Later versions were FW800, until the single 1.25GHz model came out, using the older board.

    2024 PowerPC Challenge

As @cjsebes said, it'll be pretty limited for me. I do use my G4 as a bridge machine between the MBP and my older Macs and sometimes do access sites like the Macintosh Garden, etc, directly, so it's not like the computer sits on the filing cabinet next to my desk, collecting dust.

    Removing logo/emblem from Mac 512k.

Possibly. It may be best to remove the bezel, then do what @BPearce (RedJacketPress) suggests. Or, if the serial number doesn't have to match, find a dead 128 or 512 with a decent bezel that has a good badge. Swap that on, and call it good.

Compact Macintosh Trivia. do you know what this is?

'twas a wild guess on my part... At least, saved me the time of getting the SE out of the closet it's in, then taking it apart to verify...

Compact Macintosh Trivia. do you know what this is?

Looks almost like a mounting spacer for the speaker... But, I don't remember which model compact would use it.

    System 6.0.8 and Fetch 2.1.2

Early versions did. I don't remember if I used 2.1.2 under System 6, but I did use Fetch back in the '90s under System 6 and 7.

Upgrade OS 7.5 on a Mac SE existing HD with BlueSCSI v2

Yeah, just checked my offline copy of the Apple FTP site. I do have it as a separate file, but I think I added it from the MacGUI site's server last year. BTW: @joshc, it might be worth posting the archive.org link for the MacGUI server's files, since some of us here aren't on the 'mla.

Upgrade OS 7.5 on a Mac SE existing HD with BlueSCSI v2

IIRC, all versions of Mac OS from 7.0 to 9.2.2 use the same Desktop DB and DF files. @Patrick, I suspect you're right. After all, it's found on one of the AppleShare disks, and didn't seem to get offered alone by Apple.
