GCC Technologies FI/30 internal HD for Mac SE

I have the same thing in my SE SuperDrive as well. Bought it from Herb Johnson.

    Mac IIci Success Story

Looking good. I would verify that the Nubus slots are working. UH1 is looking a little grimy, like how mine was. Luckily, the chips are still available and fairly cheap.

Will the dos card for 6100 work in IIci?

As Kai said, it's pretty much a 6100 item only. There were some PC cards that did work in Nubus 68K Macs, though. Might be worth hunting one of those down if you want to run DOS programs.

    A “NEW” quadra 800?

The back panel shown is the IIcx version. IIci has a video port in the middle. The Quadra 700 case is preconfigured for a Wombat (C/Q650, Q800) board, so it's just a matter of dropping it in. You do lose access to the third slot, if there's a need for external connection, since the 700 only...

    A “NEW” quadra 800?

Also, the Centris/Quadra 650 and Quadra 800 boards come with tants from the factory. Yet, the PowerMac 7100 boards have electrolytics.

    A “NEW” quadra 800?

IIcx has no video output port on its board, so that area is blank. You might also find a dead IIvx or IIvi machine (or a Centris 650/Quadra 650 that's dead), then you can swap the board into that system. Transfer the power LED from the dead machine's board to the solder pads on the 800 board...

    Macintosh TV CRT replacement

Nice score. If I remember correctly, the S-video cables are pinned differently than the ADB cables, though. Might be safer to mask off the metal parts of the connectors on a 590-0616 ADB cable, then use black plastidip to change the color of that cable to match the MacTV. Otherwise, for a...

What are your vintage grail items?

For me, probably the IIgs upgrade kit machine I sold for $150 in 1995. Even though I wasn't using it much anymore. If I had the storage space, I probably would've stored it away and brought it with me when we moved from our previous house to our current house.

    Not only vintage Computers

Same with my 242 Turbo. Back in the day, it was a quick car. Now, it's one of the slower ones. And, like your 300D, it's mostly mechanical. K-Jetronic fuel injection (same setup used in the gas Benzes of the 1980s, but less electronic), so only chips are in the fuel pump relay and in the...

    Not only vintage Computers

I think you'd like them a lot, especially once they're installed. Got the Volvo version on my car. Large improvement over the stock lamps it had (granted it also had the small rectangular 4x6 headlamps when I got it. Yeah, NM seems to be an area where I wouldn't expect much fog. Re: the rack...

^That could work. Even though I'd personally keep it red - less work involved, since the door jambs and underhood areas don't have to be resprayed. I would definitely consider swapping to the european composite E-code headlamps, though. Gives the car a more unique appearance, as well as...

    Not only vintage Computers

I'd be tempted to leave it the stock color. That dark red does look classy, even though it does make the car a little hotter than a light color does. With respect to licensing, it does qualify for NM's horseless carriage plates, or, alternatively, 1985 vintage plates, on collector...

It's faded silver. It's going to be sprayed properly in Volvo code 19 "Diplomat Black" paint, so it'll match the rest of the car. I will, however, leave the underside of the hood silver, that way I'll have more light underhood for working on it, especially if I'm on the side of the road at...

    Not only vintage Computers

1982 Volvo 242 Turbo. Bought it from a friend's brother in 2016 for $500. Been fixing it up ever since. Mechanically, it's pretty much where I want it. Cosmetically, needs some rust repair being that it was a NY car for many years before heading west to Washington state. Also needs paint...

What is the most dependable, long last compact mac?

^Yep. Either a PlatPlus or a regular SE would be best... For an SE, I'd probably go with a FDHD or SuperDrive model. That way, it does have some forward compatibility, while still being able to run software that'll run on a 128K (barring those pieces of software that *must* run on a 128K...

[Help wanted] - Bulid "Awesome List" of Macintosh System Software Installers

Apparently was too buggy for Apple to introduce it with the IIsi, LC, and Classic machines. So, it's extremely rare. I haven't tried to run it on a machine yet. Need to make some floppies of it, then I'll try it out on either the SE or the IIci.

Transfer files from PowerBook G3 Pismo to PowerBook 190cs

Chris, Got any zip drives lying around? That might be the best way to go, since it seems like your 190's floppy drive may need some work, hence the reason why the VST drive can't read floppies initialized on the 190 and vice versa. Wouldn't need to use the ethernet card.
