    Going mobile

I’ve since found out that bag was initially for an Apple //c. but the PowerBook fits perfectly. Just a few inches deeper but width wise it’s perfect.

CodeWarrior Sending and receiving messages between two apps

Years ago when I was a full time Mac programmer I used the interapplication communication architecture. I can’t remember the details but it was apple event based. Found this article https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/documentation/mac/pdf/Interapplication_Communication/Intro_to_IAC.pdf

    BlueSCSI v2 - DaynaPORT WiFi!

I just tried out JCS’s BlueSCSI Wi-Fi Desk Accessory and it works great. I was thinking of modding the code to save the selection to a prefs file so it auto re-connects to the last chosen SSID. Then I thought what would be really cool is to make a cdev (like superclock) so the signal...

    BlueSCSI v2 - DaynaPORT WiFi!

Welp... Now I can't reproduce it. 🤷‍♂️ So weird. I could consistently reproduce it the other day and now the issue seems to have vanished. My favorite kind of issue lol

BlueSCSI wake from sleep freeze "fix" for Powerbook 100 series

If any of you want to fix the issue where the powerbook freezes up (for several minutes) after waking the powerbook from sleep, I came up with a hack workaround "fix"... The issue is that when you wake up the powerbook, the Pi Pico doesn't boot up fast enough when the powerbook "spins up the...

    BlueSCSI v2 - DaynaPORT WiFi!

Ahhh I can try that. Yeah, no way to see what the driver is? Not even on a modern machine with a hex editor or something? I’ve been beating on it copying folders etc and it’s fine. So seams like it was specific to that image. Could the extension matter at all? .hda vs .img. I figured if I...

    BlueSCSI v2 - DaynaPORT WiFi!

So the only thing holding me back from installing a pico W internally for Wi-Fi in the PB180 instead of an external db25 is two things. • The initial wifi connect has been a bit spotty. As mentioned I can monitor it connecting from my iPhone app upon powering up the BlueSCSI before plugging it...

    BlueSCSI v2 - DaynaPORT WiFi!

Ok my bad on MacTCP it looks like… just got it working on system 7.1. It uses much less ram and seems zippier than OT. A good choice for a ram starved PowerBook 180. that multiple folder copying thing is still a mystery. Just wanted to put it out there incase someone wanted to try to reproduce...

    BlueSCSI v2 - DaynaPORT WiFi!

I got some time in today to try out the latest firmware with a BlueSCSI DB25 and a pico W. I set it up so it connects to my router and I can watch it connect form my iPhone when I power it on. It works well under System 7.1 with Open Transport (I used the installers on the "HD4 BlueSCSI v2...

What’s faster RAM Doubler or BlueSCSI + Virtual Memory

Yeah, I removed it. Too buggy. Lots of illegal instructions using ram hungry apps like Bryce, Premeire etc.

What’s faster RAM Doubler or BlueSCSI + Virtual Memory

Ahh I didn’t think about that. I’ve been experimenting with it. Seems to work ok as a solution until you come out with a PowerBook 100 series ram expansion 😜.

What’s faster RAM Doubler or BlueSCSI + Virtual Memory

Curious what would be faster to increase your physical ram from 8 MB to 16 MB using either 32 but addressing and virtual memory or using Connectix RAM doubler. I’m sure a BlueSCSI is faster than a physical HD but is it as fast as SSD and how much slower is it than physical RAM? Connectix RAM...

Max HD size on PowerBook 180 (100 series) ?

Yeah I tried a single image, same issue, I tried switching to 7.5.3 as well. I think I am going to pass on the firmware update because it will require me to open the machine all the way up again. i've got it cracked open JUST enough to get to the SD card with tweezers.
