    BlueSCSI on Macintosh Portable

I went through all that meticulously when I was trying to figure out what was going on before I discovered it was the ram expansion. It made no difference. I’ve had rest off and sleep set to max and off when plugged in.

    BlueSCSI on Macintosh Portable

The problem does appear on first boot (cuts cpu speed in half with 7mb). Then after sleep/wake it cuts that in half again roughly.

    BlueSCSI on Macintosh Portable

Yeah I follow. And I’m sure most people don’t even notice. I didn’t. The only reason I noticed was because the Talking Moose was getting all distorted and talking super slow after sleep. buts it is quite a difference in speed drop. Cuts it in half almost. Especially after sleep. And it...

    BlueSCSI on Macintosh Portable

Ahh you just basically answered my question. I’m cool with 3MB or whatever a factory ram card gave us. Is there a way for us to flash the card with new code if you come up with a fix?

    BlueSCSI on Macintosh Portable

Cool. So why is a factory OEM card working? Do you think it’s the same but the factory card is just less RAM so it’s not noticeable and this is a bug in the firmware since day one and the more memory you add is just amplifying the issue?

    BlueSCSI on Macintosh Portable

ahh yep that’s no change. And around 2.0 is the expected speed. 2X a Mac plus @ 8mhz resulting in 1.0 speed.

So is everyone seeing the same two issues I am and with two different ram cards? A) slower performance overal B) even slower performance after waking from sleep BTW that is awesome you have a logic analyzer for System 6 ?

Any IICX chip level repair experts? I've got a clock but RESET / ARST is stuck high

Hey Kai I have been watching the livestream on YouTube you were in on mac84s channel and my iicx had the exact same issue. I have clocks and reset but no activity. You mentioned removing a jumper somewhere and walking the bus. I’d like to try that but I don’t know what jumper. Also what docs are...
