MacSD - Multi-device SCSI adapter with audio

PP7 changes ONLY 5V and nothing else?

MacSD - Multi-device SCSI adapter with audio

@YMK It's difficult to get my scope probe to fit with the motherboard inside the case. The best I could do was use one 20cm wire between Spicy O'Clock's 5V pin to the outside of the case, connecting to my Scope Probe. I then used the GND on the external SCSI port to my Probe's GND, thinking...

MacSD - Multi-device SCSI adapter with audio

I don't have a lot of time after work tonight, but I will try my best to fit my Scope probe nearer to the source, rather than use those 20cm leads. I know from experience that the longer the scope probe ground, the more pronounced the noise is on switching power supplies, especially the ESL...

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

@Zane Kaminski Your official posts in this thread have have been silent for the last 4 months, so I do hope there are still plans in the works to make the fabulous accelerator happen. To continue what I had said before about distorted sound, I was Googling SE accelerators yesterday and found...

MacSD - Multi-device SCSI adapter with audio

@YMK On Youtube you wrote the following (see blue highlighted part)... I made time this evening to do 2 hours worth of measurements on the 5V line. I tapped 5V and GND on Spicy O'Clock because (1) it was most convenient, and (2) it taps those connections very close to the CPU. I used my...

    BlueSCSI Issues - Bus Error

I keep repeating that it could be a knock-off IC causing issues; but if that's true, only a swapping of the BluePill would fix it. I honestly don't know what else it could be, but I am not the developer, so my feedback is limited in its usefulness.

    BlueSCSI Issues - Bus Error

Other than the solder blob at C14 which isn't hurting anything, I cannot see anything wrong. I guess the white I am seeing under the main chip on the BluePill is silkscreen. Even so, I can't help but wonder if that chip being a fake instead of authentic could have something to do with it.

I'm very sorry to hear that, @Michelangelo. You have a very stubborn Analog Board!

    BlueSCSI Issues - Bus Error

There's not enough resolution for me to determine if there is crud between the pins or if it is just blurring and lighting... What I am forced to do whenever I use my iPhone 7 (yes, I'm poor) to shoot Macro photos is use my left hand to place a macro lens in front of the iPhone lens to shoot...

    BlueSCSI Issues - Bus Error

I cannot see anything bad from those photos. I would assume that @Drake tested it since he build it, but to what extent he tested it prior to shipping to you should be discussed with him. Clearly, you are having some serious problems and you have also done some serious testing to determine...

    BlueSCSI Issues - Bus Error

There is an easy solution, but it will take time, cost money, and you would need to cooperate with @Drake to do it -- send it to Drake so he can perform his own testing, and if he finds issues on some of his own Macs which are different from yours and which he knows that BlueSCSI works fine...

MacSD - Multi-device SCSI adapter with audio

My new video below is dedicated with humble appreciation to @YMK for having kindly and patiently taught me the better way to heatsink a hot 68040 processor, as described earlier in this thread. If any of you want to better cool a hot 68040 CPU, especially when overclocking, this video is for...

    BlueSCSI Issues - Bus Error

@rjkucia I quickly skimmed through the older thread you linked for us, and the resounding theme I spotted was LIDO. I suggest trying another formatter to see if that helps, such as the patched Apple HD Setup 7.3.5. Not sure if Disk Jockey will be a help to you, but you should check that out...

    68882 PLCC to PGA adapter?

If anyone among us has such an adapter it would be Kai "TheAdapterMan" Robinson! :-) I say that because he made some adapters for his SE Reloaded project, so who knows what else he might have hidden over there in the UK. @Kai Robinson

    Mac Plus.. ticking analog board

I think only the flyback could be in question. I've honestly never seen any report in all these years about the main transformer going bad. I wouldn't worry about it at this time.

Yes, and I see it's as expensive as ever. That's why the Macintosh Garden version is a much better deal, if you don't need the manuals. :-)

    Mac Plus.. ticking analog board

Yes, flybacks from an SE or SE/30 are compatible with the analog boards for the Macintosh Plus and below. Here’s a photo of the flyback in one of my Mac Plus analog boards used in a Mac512… So long as you bought two pieces of that BU406 transistor, I would suggest you go the easy route and...

    Mac Plus.. ticking analog board

@Michelangelo Nice find! The BU406 is right between T1 & T2, so I suspect it was either a voltage spike or a bad T1 or T2 which brought down the 406.
