    MicroMac Power Workstation

Sure, please do if it’s not too much trouble. If nothing else, having good photos of a working one might help someone in the future piece together a fix.

    MicroMac Power Workstation

I haven’t tried dumping GALs before, but it would be a fun reason to build a DuPAL. Maybe a good project in a few months. Having three cards in an LC would be amazing, although I wonder if INITs and drivers would need to be patched as they probably make the assumption they’re all alone in the...

    MicroMac Power Workstation

I’d be really curious to see some good pictures of this board. It’s not clear to me how they’d be able to do addressable PDS slots: I think the MicroMac one gets away with it because they assume one of the two cards is always an accelerator & therefore runs the bus.

My Weird Dual Floppy Macintosh 512K

I wonder how they cut such a precise slot into the front of the machine. It doesn't even look like the edges melted.

    HyperDrive 20 troubleshooting

Not much to add other than I desoldered/destroyed the Molex connector so I could get at both of the joints for the visibly burned R45 resistor. It's a DALE-branded 1Ω 1% resistor, and I'm guessing it's meant to be a pretty expensive precision part. It looks like the same part from the Hack Shack...

    HyperDrive 20 troubleshooting

I finally figured out that my SE FDHD wasn't starting ("flupping," or the PSU going into protection) because of the MiniScribe 8425SA that came with it. I followed my nose until I isolated it as the source of the burned component(s). For some reason, possibly stubbornness, I want to try and...

A battery bombed SE stored in a garage for years

That chassis looks great. Are you planning to plate/coat it, or just paint?

Looking for flex cables to recreate

I do see a lot of broken PowerBook cables, and I’m scared of opening and closing my eMate, so this is a great service you’re providing. Do flex cables get dramatically cheaper with a larger quantity? They have always seemed very expensive in small shots. One of my friends is also having...

Run a Color Classic without an analog board or tube?

Based on squinting at their respective analogue boards, I suspect there's a lot of overlap between the Colour Classic AB and a 9" Sony PVM. I do have a CC with some very scorched Zener diodes on the AB that I could probably try reversing, but analogue stuff is not my specialty.

MicroMac SE Prototypes Video Out Troubleshooting

Could be one of those right-to-left mistakes, where one person is counting from the left side of a female connector, but the other person is counting from the left side of a male connector.

MicroMac SE Prototypes Video Out Troubleshooting

I set up a configuration for the NEC PC-6601SR (4-bit digital RGBI) and it worked really well, although I still need to figure out how to make a palette. If you already have the gear (pis and the cpld are in short supply these days) it would be my first stop for anything like this from now on...

    ADB keyboard left plug problems

Interesting problem. It hopefully won't take too much time to take the keyboard apart and check that ADB jack for a broken solder joint, debris in the connector, or even a cracked shield.

    Dead TechStep

Great work so far! Does the “ROM B” button allow you to select a second ROM with more machines on it?

    Macintosh IIfx explosive RAM

That’s amazing: structural solder mask. I can’t even get the stuff to go smoothly over trace repairs!

    Power Macintosh 475

Time to benchmark drag race it against a 6100. Fantastic work. Does it get hot?
