Found a ebay listing with a interesting claim.
this is supposedly a lc-575 logic board in a color classic with the power pc upgrage
here is the interesting bit.
seller says that it is 132mb which is functional under the 6040 but only 36mb is functional under the power pc processor.
So there is no doubt that these are compatible with normal simm sockets?
why would they separate the pins unlike normal simms? What did the sockets that these went into look like? Any chance they have more pins on the underside?
Glad I saw that before trying to plug it into something lol.
any insight?
if memory serves, there is also a 256mb version of this module which basically confirms that pinout is non standard at the very least, damagingly incompatible at worst. As 128mb is the max for 72-pin simms usually

Noticed something... maybe you all are already aware but the module I ordered isn't wired like a normal simm it seems the two sides of the simm contacts are separately wired.
was that anticipated?
🤔
might be a little difficult for me to probe that board while running. I haven’t rigged up a way to power it outside the case. And the lc-550 case is rather cramped.
can I ohm between the chipset and the ram slot? Could you indicate the points? You are much more familiar with this than I‘ll...
I ordered the larger module. The one you recommended.
I see the other one looks like a 16 chip config. Is that even compatible with what we are trying to do?
I do have some 128mb and 64mb sticks in my collection.
I worry about clearance on the large stick..?
Hello all!
I am very very very interested in doing this for my lc-550 performa.
I have for a long time wanted more than 36mb.
I would like to offer any help I can for the project. And beta testing. Let’s get this thing maxed out! :p
