Mac Plus stuck on "Welcome to Macintosh"

I'd say you need to patch the System file using ResEdit. Instructions are here: https://www.bigmessowires.com/mac-se30-with-upgraded-rom/ I did this with 7.5.5 and 7.6.1 and in both cases it worked. Before patching 7.5, the behaviour is as you said, it gets stuck in that welcome screen.

    Apple 1 Clone, Build log

So finally I could make the mono cable and try to load some programs using the iPad to reproduce the audio files. It's a bit tricky, but setting the volume quite high it's working most of the times. So I could load BASIC... And some other programs that are around, like this demo done for the...

Can Mac OS 8.1 run on a SE/30? RASCSI/BlueSCSI image wanted

I’d say that “because we can” is our top reason for most things we do in this community 😬

Can Mac OS 8.1 run on a SE/30? RASCSI/BlueSCSI image wanted

Thanks. It seems this is to make it "the hard way", but I'm lazy and if these images (the one above and this other one) I found work, I'll be happy enough. Hopefully the Daynaport drivers will work on 8.1, as being online would be nice. PS I love the disclaimer of that page...

Can Mac OS 8.1 run on a SE/30? RASCSI/BlueSCSI image wanted

Thanks! So it happens that suddenly this became a hot topic and a guy just published a BlueSCSI image in 68KMLA I'll play with this, but I'll also tell DosFox1, in case he has something nicer. EDIT: DosFox1 doesn't have open messaging on TW

Can Mac OS 8.1 run on a SE/30? RASCSI/BlueSCSI image wanted

Answering myself... I saw this: https://lowendmac.com/2000/born-again-allows-installing-os-8-on-most-68030-macs/ I wonder if anyone did already such install and could share a RASCSI/BlueSCSI image. That would be really cool!

So that's my question... Wondering if my SE/30 with the ROMinator II could run Mac OS 8.1...

Troubleshooting SE/30 garbled screen, no chime before and after recap

What is worrying is that there's no chime. I had to replace several of those chips on my SE/30 because the cap juice damaged it, but I always had chime. I'm curious to see the outcome of this repair.

Mac IIci rebooting over and over automatically

You can just focus in the first page as the power circuit is there. You should easily identify the ICs such UB14, UE13, UD13, and the caps and other components in that area. If the traces are fine, it could be that the cap juice is affecting UE13 and UD13 (I’m mostly guessing!).

Mac IIci rebooting over and over automatically

These Macs that have part of the power control in the logic board (to allow powering up with the keyboard and software shutdown). I'd check that part of the circuit first maybe. I had some issues with that on a IIsi. In particular, this zone maybe: Just in case, I added the schematics in the...

    Apple 1 Clone, Build log

Today I made the Apple Cassette Interface. The ROM seems to work properly, but I couldn't test as I don't have an appropriate mono cable. Hopefully soon I'll be able to load BASIC and other cool stuff

Issue with ROMinator II and SE/30 (bad contact)

I made myself some 4MB SIMMs and my only solution was to get the chips out from a 32MB 72-pin one

Mac IIci rebooting over and over automatically

Yep. I had to do mine and it’s a pain… but it was needed… in my case one of the RIFA caps exploded and I had a funny smell in my room for many days… when I opened it I could clearly see cap juice in several places. I guess you can only be sure if someone could lend you a PSU to test… Did you...

I thickened the pads with solder and now it works like a charm!

I suggest you start by the PSU. It’s very likely you need to recap it too.

    Post your desk!

This is my tinkering corner. Some extra stuff is kept safely packed in the basement. I used to have a CRT on the desk, but now I use just an LCD with adapters.

Mac mini G4 running Mac OS 9.2

Well, seems I found a solution for the audio. I received this today: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001111644497.html The device is not appearing in the sound control panel, and it has some limitations, but it's working fine. I tried several games and the sound quality is pretty good.
