Update made to MacDock. Released what was in beta almost a year ago and fixed a few more things. See release notes in the README.md!
Enjoy!
Glad to be back on the wagon with this thing. This will be the last update before I (hopefully) make the major changes I spoke about a year back in my...
Sorry @JDW I was just kidding around and trying to build on your and others’ interest in a hard-to-find Lisa :-P. My internet comedy is rustier than a battery-bombed logic board! :-P
Have you tried just waiting like 5 minutes to see if it’s just taking a while on the RAM check? Another person had a similar issue with their Plus loaded with 4MB RAM. Took them days of trying things and probing and finally found out just waiting for it to finish its ram check was all it took...
I hate to intrude on your thread but I love love love my Plus for its silence. I don’t use it because of its performance (I have an SE/30 about 7 ft away from the Plus) and I don’t use it because of my personal Plus’s condition (it’s in rougher shape than my SE/30) and I don’t use it for its...
This sounds awesome — I don’t know the answer to your questions. But if you’re confident the replacement fan is of similar power requirements then why not just touch the existing yellow/black wires from the board onto the connectors of the replacement fan and see what happens?
Nice work!!
Yeah check the connector and the speaker wire connections to its connector. These sometimes go and the wire or the metal connector pin gets separated or loose etc. Or just a bad speaker is of course possible.
Tough one losing all that time to a ram test but hey - you learned a...
Sorry what? So we have a/ux but we are trying to install an old netBSD on it? Or are we replacing the kernel or..? Sorry I’m mixed up with Unix sometimes
I read on some old 68kmla thread the other day I THINK that the scsi termination “fuse” can go and not let you get proper termination or something… perhaps it takes 5v scsi power down with it.
Try google searching that
edit to add:
Have you tried powering the blue scsi externaly via the usb...
I have a MacPlus. It has a BlueSCSI v1.
It's worked great but I've noticed it's a few symptoms and I'm not sure the cause. I'm not assuming it's blueSCSI's 'fault' so don't get me wrong!
I mainly use it just for keeping a diary in WriteNow. So 95% of my use is I just double click on the...

Saw this - thought any SE Michigan folks (or even nearby Toledo, OH!) might be interested!
I’m hoping to bring several old macs.
I have a Mac Plus I redently got. It was in tired shape but working. I recapped the analog board and reflowed the solder joints for all (3?) of the connectors.
Everything works great except on a cold start (eg mac been sitting for hours) the screen kinda flickers dim momentarily every few...
Could always buy a supercheap external bluescsi v1 :-/
that might be cheaper than the internal to external adapter..
Could you buy a mutli scsi internal ribbon cable?
i bet you could use terminal to read raw data from the storage device in the correct way so that the raw data is an image for...
From my research into these, it is very common for the power jack to loosen. May have even been part of a recall.
Anyway i read somewhere (likely an old 68kmla comment) where someone said they used to have to repair them a lot and the first thing theyd do post repair is to hot glue the jack to...
Was recapping the analog board on a new Plus that I got and I wanted to add the diode to have the scsi port power my blueSCSI.
I didn’t have a diode on hand and didn’t want to put in a single-diode order from like digikey because shipping would eat me alive. So i started thinking where might...
