    5126 Backlight flickering

Hey everyone! A few years back I had someone repair my backlit portable and it works great. Recently though, the display backlight starts flickering whenever there’s disk access happening, even with BlueSCSI, which uses less power. The question is, is there a backlight voltage regulator that...

Mac SE w/dual floppies - where is the System stored?

Hey there, I also have the dual floppy SE, there is an internal SCSI port on the logic board, so it’s easy to toss a BlueSCSI in there and mount it on top of the floppy drives. You could also get a BlueSCSI caddy that installs on tbe rear bracket for easy switching of SD cards!

    ROM-inator Resurrections

A friend of mine told me about this video. I am COMPLETELY STOKED for this. One thing I didn't like about previous ROMs because the memory space was too short to accommodate the cooler longer startup sounds. Recently purchased several 8Mb Rims and a programmer, so I will be looking forward to...

Mystic PPC WITH Apple IIe card

No, I’m still able to boot into 7.1 with the 040.

Mystic PPC WITH Apple IIe card

I believe 36 is max, 32 from the SIMM and 4 from the logic board.

Mystic PPC WITH Apple IIe card

Also, apparently because of the 601 rom limitations, it doesn’t see all of your installed RAM, which is crummy. The 040 recognizes the full 128 Mb, but it takes a while to count it when cold booting.

Mystic PPC WITH Apple IIe card

Yes, that card allows you to boot into 601 mode OR 040 mode. I’m guessing the PPC card will NOT run the IIe card if it requires 32 bit addressing turned on. I actually haven’t installed the Power Macintosh Card control panel yet, so I haven’t actually booted into PPC.

Mystic PPC WITH Apple IIe card

Hello all! I was reading on This Old Mac that the Apple Power Macintosh Upgrade Card for the 575 precludes one from using the LC PDS slot. BUT…. I thought, what if you used a PDS extension to “raise it up” overtop of the Power Mac card? Would the IIe card be recognized? Would it work? The...

    PowerMac 8100 Booting issues

Just following up on this TWO YEARS LATER. I had my friend @ComputerCompulsive take a look at this over the past few weeks, and he figured out that the L2 Cache was bad, and it wouldn't post if it was installed. He removed it, and then got it to boot. I was over there this morning and we did...
