For what it's worth, my Tsunami 9600 always needed a "running start" no matter what media I used. Had to Power On > Chime > Power Off > Power On again and it would come up correctly.

I don't see why not. All of the basic hardware requirements are present on the card, unless there's some low-level things that are absent.

I've tried a few more times since my last post. Each hanging around the same time towards the end of install. I'll try another 95 disk in the next week.

Come to think of it, I have not. Worried about that little plastic clip, but I'll try that now.

Unfortunately, it's still randomly hanging after updating to 2.1.7.

It's the Apple manufactured one, and I have not. I'll give that a try.
