    SE/30 and Lapis ProColorServer 24 (Not 24X)

Yes, I was able to changes resolutions on my 24. I’m away on a trip until Tuesday but I pretty sure I got one of the drivers off the Macintosh Garden to work.

    SE/30 and Lapis ProColorServer 24 (Not 24X)

I have the same board as you so I’ll be following this thread. One thing I notice in the pictures is the 24X has all the jumpers removed in the upper left corner.

    Horizontal lines on SE/30 Display

Glad to know someone else has seen this. It’s something that if you’re not looking for you might not notice. One thing I might try sometime is installing some ferrite beads on a Sony supply and see if that makes a difference.

    Horizontal lines on SE/30 Display

I finally got around to installing a TD Design power supply yesterday. This is based on 4 MeanWell modules. Worked fine. Display showed no signs of those horizontal bars. At this point I think done working on this. At least in my case and in my environment I can conclude the problem I...

    Horizontal lines on SE/30 Display

It doesn’t appear to be anything generated from within my home as I have shut off all the breakerexcept the computer. I just finished my spectrum analyzer testing. The Sony supplies generate a large frequency spike at around 38.7 kHz with subsequent harmonics at 77 and 115 kHz. I suspect I’m...

    Horizontal lines on SE/30 Display

Beat you to it. Also tested with a SE SuperDrive. Same results. I’m going to break out the spectrum analyzer today and look closely at the AC artifacts on the 12 volt sweep rail. I already looked with a scope and didn’t see much difference except the Sony appeared to show a little more noise.

Tested with multiple logic and analog boards.

    Horizontal lines on SE/30 Display

I have 3 Sony power supplies that I used for testing of with 2 were recapped. I also have 3 Astec power supplies of which 2 were recapped. Always the same result. I’ve also verified that there is no interference being generated within my house and I have thrown all the breaker in my house and...

    Horizontal lines on SE/30 Display

Yes, all rail voltages were fine. I also scoped all the rails and the Sony supplies do have a higher amount of high frequencies noise on the 12 volt sweep supply but not significantly more than the Astec. I’ll just use an Astec supply for now since it works fine. I’ll probably in the future...

    Horizontal lines on SE/30 Display

Yes it was fully recapped. I tested with 3 different Sony power supplies of which 2 were recapped. Results were always the same. Also I tested with multiple logic and analog boards that had also been recapped. Bottom line those horizontal lines were there when Sony power supplies were used...

    Horizontal lines on SE/30 Display

Since nobody else seems to have the problem I just tell you what I found. Turns out to be an issue when using a Sony power supply. Don’t see the problem with Astec supplies. Have tried multiple Sony and Astec supplies on several different computers and the problem is always there with the...

    Horizontal lines on SE/30 Display

Thanks but that isn’t the problem. I can recreate this problem on multiple computers each with a different logic board. At this point I’m just trying to see if anyone else has every noticed the problem before.

    Horizontal lines on SE/30 Display

I’ve been working for a while trying to determine the cause of very faint horizontal lines that move from the bottom to the top of the CRT every few seconds. While I can see them perfectly with my eyes I’ve had a hard time documenting them in a photo or video. Here is my best attempt to...

Problems with buying from Japan using Buyee

Received the package today. As I expected they tossed the complete neck board and only shipped me the harness. Luckily a great friend of the retro Mac community is sending me a blank PCB and I’ve already sent in a parts order to Mouser. Guess I won’t be doing any more business with Buyee. Manuel

Problems with buying from Japan using Buyee

From what I can tell it was earlier this year. Here is an email I found. Dear Customer, This is the Buyee Customer Support. Thank you for using our service. Regarding your concern, under Japan's export control regulations, certain semiconductor-related items are treated as prohibited items...

Problems with buying from Japan using Buyee

I recently purchased a SE/30 grayscale neck board and harness off of Yahoo Auctions using the Buyee proxy buying service. Everything went fine until the board and harness reached the Buyee warehouse. I got an email saying they were no longer allowed to ship items with semiconductors...

    BlueSCSI Toolbox

Trying to use the Bluescsi toolbox for the first time. I have a V2 external with the latest version of the firmware and toolbox and am running MacOS 7.1 on a Mac SE. I have a folder on root of the SD card called named shared where I have several files. When I launch the transfer app I get a...
