My IIsi Power Supply is dying. Possible to fix?

Have you looked at the schematics yet? From memory there is a thermistor on the high voltage side, could be related to what you are seeing. I am trying to think of components that are heat dependent to operate correctly, or ones that will be affected adversely/drifting out of spec as the power...

LC III Dyna Corp PSU not playing ball even after a recap

Did you replace the small capacitor on the high voltage side as well?

    Macintosh LCIII start up failure

This isn’t true for the LC III, it works fine without a battery.

For What Do You Think The Classic II ROM Expansion Was Intended?

Lots of Macs had ROM slots - though there were seldom ROM upgrades available, that's a more recent thing. From the dev notes it's clear that the main use was intended as an FPU upgrade slot, and there were upgrades from at least 3 manufacturers that I know of back then who provided FPU card...

For What Do You Think The Classic II ROM Expansion Was Intended?

This is explained in the developer notes for the Classic II. I've copied the pages below.

    SE Analog Board Resurrections

Some ideas: - reduce the size of the logo and put it on the other side of the board - replicate more closely the original silkscreen for a more OEM look I think on bolle’s Se/30 reloaded board, he put very small text in the corner of the board. Normally it wouldn’t matter much but I would...

    SE Analog Board Resurrections

This is cool. Is there a way of getting a PCB without the Satanic Mac Club branding? (something with silkscreen more like the original?)

⚠️ Caution about using sun to restore yellow plastics

There is a reason I don't like retrobrighting and don't advocate it. It changes the properties of the plastic, often weakening it and the yellowing will always return. I've got a few things retrobrighted by other people and they have all yellowed again since I got them. It's also very easy to...

SuperMac VidCards - Timeline Development - Links

I put that wiki page together, I dug up most of the info from old Macworld magazines. If there is any info out there about Series II cards, old Macworld and MacUser magazines should have them.

    Performa 6290 power supply questions

Just for the sake of accuracy, I have never converted a 6200 PSU but I know @demik is running a 6200 from an ATX PSU, which he detailed here https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/guide-sfx-psu-conversion-for-quadra-630-performa-6200.35759/ But yes, re-capping the existing one is fine - I've...

    660AV battery bomb

Have you tried to power it on? You never know... most of those traces seem to be PDS slot related so it might not be that bad.

    SE/30 Power issues

Read all the voltages at the first connector from the power supply to the analog board, what do you get? If your power supply is an original unit, it may need to be re-capped, yes. A lot of people do an ATX conversion with these instead now, as that means you'll get more longevity as it's...

PSU hack for IIci and other soft switch Macs

Thanks :) What about them? They are of the same/similar age to the Astec, Delta, and LITEON. Old PSUs are old. I personally don't think any of them are worth recapping at this point. Others may disagree with that viewpoint, but you should get more longevity from a new ATX-based PSU.

PSU hack for IIci and other soft switch Macs

Yup. The drilling was the hard part, I used a decent Bosch drill but I guess I was using the wrong drill bit as it was really hard to get it through the metal case.

PSU hack for IIci and other soft switch Macs

This is really the way to go with dead/dying IIci PSUs. I don't think it is worth recapping old power supplies like this anymore. There is nothing special about the original IIci power supply. The original Astec/Delta units are way beyond the end of their designed lifetime now. The other benefit...

    Satanic SE/30 Project

The attention to detail and dedication in your Satanic SE/30 is impressive. I don't usually like compact Mac hacks/mods because they're usually very poorly done, but this is excellent!
