Hey everyone! We've been having issues with being bombarded by forum spam bots. As a temporary measure we're disabling registration for around 72 hours. Anyone wanting to join up as a legitimate user, please have patience! :)
I remember about 3 things from my programming classes, but I remember Linked Lists being very important and useful.
Thanks for posting this!
And welcome to the forum
I feel like this thread has come full circle :D
Yes, the methods outlined in this thread work for OS9 - hell, I've even done OS 7.6!
What kicked off this whole endeavour was the scarcity of the Seritek and the Sonnet cards.
So yes, what's done here is flash off-the-shelf "modern" hardware with...
This is really cool! I remember wanting one of those panels.
There's a semi-related project over at https://blocko.net/ where @GutBomb has created an interface card for the previous generation Lego Technic Interface A (Lego 9750) for the Apple II.
I love how period correct this feels, using the...
Oh, that was you!
I saw your pictures on reddit.
And yeah, mechanical shop was my guess when I saw that black grime. If it's anything like from when we emptied out my granddads workshop it's a combination of metal- and paint dust from grinding, oils, lubricants, and rubber dust from tires and...

Which Performa model is this? Does the hard drive spin up? Does the startup chime sound? Other sounds?
Wow, looks like you're pretty much saturating the SCSI and/or Nubus bus there. For both read and write.
Also be aware that flash memory isn't particularly strong on long sequential writes - it's the near-instant seek times which makes everything snappy.
Thanks for publishing these results!
Oh! Oh my! Now _that_ brings up some memories!
I don't know where my dad got a hold of one, but one day we had what we referred to as the "computer recording cassette" for the SE(or was it an SE/30 by then?).
I remember recording my little brother saying a phrase into an app and being able to...
