I've spent the last two months working like mad on a comparison of the new (July 2024) Baby Face Electronics Power Supply, comparing it to my stock recapped SONY PSU and also to the SEASONIC PSU that I've been using since 2018. I also successfully tried the 16AWG wire recommendation by...

Hi,
Long story short I bought a Mac Pro 3,1 a while back for very little money and it worked then it didn’t. I chalked it up to bad luck and scrapped it.
I bought another one yesterday, with 2 3.2 Quad-cores and 32GB RAM BUT it’s also dead.
No fans, no power LED, and no chime. Powers up for...
Could anyone please confirm for me the jumper settings for 230V for a DataPower 15A0202-000,001 power supply? I bought the Lisa in this configuration in the UK, but it had suffered a blown fuse, a vaporised trace underneath the PSU board and cracked RIFAs.
Attached is a top-down view of the...
Greetings all.
I recently got a Q700 case with the motherboard and the PSU from a Quadra 650.
The caps in the PSU looked really toasted from a hard life with a million hours in at least soft-power-"on".
I couldn't find a parts list for the caps in this specific one, so I thought I'd do the...
When taking apart your Apple IIc, you may want to check if the internal power converter has any leaking capacitors.
This guide helps you though the process. Note not all power supplies on the IIc are the same. This is meant of the Astec AA7341B, Apple part 699-0230, shown in images below...
I woke up one chilly morning in the middle of December, last year, to an eBay alert. There was a TAM bass unit available for less than $1000! I groggily reviewed the photos and made an impulse purchase after being "awake" for less than 3 minutes.
I was in luck but certainly not in a traditional...
I didn't realize it had to be plugged into the board or it ticks! I plugged it in, it seems to work!
I just recapped my other LCII PSU, a TDK this time. It was completely dead. Now it ticks in triplets (123-123-123, etc.). It's very faint and sounds as though it may be coming from the...
Hi,
I'm recapping my LCII PSU by Astec. I ordered the Astec recap kit from Console5. The big cap on my board is a 180µf 400v nichicon while the one they sent me is a 220µf 400v. I know with voltage I can go higher but what about micro farads?
Not sure how to test the old one to see if it even...
