Well this is officially the find of the year so far.
240MHz PowerBook 3400c, for FREE!!!
It was a bit beat up, bad keyboard, wonky hinges, missing a drive module and the HDD Cable (and HDD) but shockingly the PRAM battery hadn’t wrecked the logic board and it works!
I have another one in better condition, so I’ve gone ahead and swapped motherboards between the two, my nicer one now has the 240MHz processor. Here they both are together. New one on the right (with my old motherboard though)
I got it from a local electronics recycler/refurbisher. Was sitting in a corner for god knows how long collecting dust before I rescued it. It’s possible that they will have more vintage Apple stuff at some point too!
