A very under rated computer

Growing up in Europe, the BBC models always caught my eye, but I never owned one back then. Now I have 2 model B's.
BBC Basic is easily the best BASIC on an 8 bit machine I've ever seen. I'm very glad this section is part of the forum, a very unexpected surprise!

The Beebs are wonderful machines, with hardware designed to be hacked-around on. Nearly every machine you pick up today has some sort of user-added hardware, holes drilled for switches, accelerators, DACs/ADCs, servo controllers, whatever. All part of the character!

I really like the fact that adding mass-storage to the BBC is a simple case of hooking up a £3 Arduino-style SD card interface via a ribbon cable and burning a ROM.
