Whenever I first power on my Power Macintosh 9600, it freezes once or twice during OS load, or directly after, and then it works fine. Furthermore, upon first boot, the chime is crackly, but then it is perfectly smooth upon reboot.
It's only when first booted after more than a few hours being powered down that any of this occurs.
No capacitors are problematic upon inspection on neither the logic board nor within the power supply, although both are certainly old enough to use a recap. I've also tried to find faults in the RAM installed in the system but could find none.
Any ideas on what could be causing this, if not caps or RAM? To any experts who would help, thank you in advance.
