The Atari 2600 voltage regulator has an aluminum heatsink. This heatsink is mounted to the pcb board via a small leg, which can easily break off over the years. I noticed my leg was broken when I went to replace the voltage regulator.

Instead of buying a new heatsink, I noticed you can salvage the existing heatsink one by cutting off one of the arms and using it as a leg!

You must use the left side circled piece as the right size doesn't have the extra small protruding stub. Take the piece you cut off, bend the protruding stub 45 degrees, and glue it to the bottom of the heatsink as in below picture.

The small protruding stub is same width as the original leg, so it will fit in the PCB board slot perfectly! This doesn't negatively affect heat deception a the regulator is still mounted to the heatsink and doesn't come in contact with the glue.

For glueing, I suggest using epoxy such as J-B Weld 8276 KwikWeld.
