Building A/UX Device Drivers
This book describes how to build A/UX device drivers and how peripheral devices interact with A/UX.
This book is available from APDA as part of the set called A/UX Device Drivers Kit.
Does anybody have a copy of this kit/book? I wasn‘t able to find it on the internet and other people have also been unsuccessfully looking for it…

Thanks. I‘ve already installed A/UX 2 and 3 multiple times and am accustomed to UNIX based systems. I‘m looking for this specific documentation only.

Well...no promises. I think I remember seeing it in the '90s. It may have been with my Gen 1 Inside Mac books. But, they are in storage somewhere near the Ark of the Covenant from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Don‘t worry, it‘s not urgent at all…

I found some Gen 1 stuff, but I am missing IM III and IM V, so A/UX may be with them in a box somewhere, or I don't have it.

I have some more clues. The A/UX Toolbox: Macintosh ROM Interface (Release 3.0) documentation lists supplementary references. Among them is the Building A/UX Device Drivers book. The author is "APDA" (part of Apple Computer, Inc.), published in 1992. I wonder if the publisher was Addison Welsey, like many of Apple's technical books?

Cheers,

Yes...and...APDA is Apple Programmers/Developers Association. As an Apple Developer in the '90s, you would order software and tech literature and get piles of stuff - disks, books, binders, etc.

Now that is intriguing! :D What would it take to rebuild that association and add "Retro" before the APDA?

It might be possible. I have an APDA Catalogue from the inital QuickTime era. And I found IM III, but no V or A/UX.
