I've got a 7100/80 and primarily use the PDS video card with additional 2MB VRAM to drive my monitor (an old NEC 1024x768 LCD that works really well for this system). I've got 72MB RAM, running Mac OS 9.1, and using a BlueSCSI v2 for my HD needs.
My problem is that the cursor frequently flickers and sometimes flat out disappears when running 1027x768 at 16-bit depth. It's definitely better if I downshift to 256 colors, but I want all the colors (at least all the 16-bit colors). What's weird is that the mouse cursor will disappear from the screen but it'll still be usable - I can click around and if I open the Mouse or Monitors control panel I can get the cursor back.
Has anyone run into this before? I've run all the hardware diagnostic utilities I can get my hands on to test the system and everything shows up just fine. Yes, yes, I know Mac OS 9.1 can be pokey on that system but I like it. I am using modern VRAM from Garrett's Workshop, but it checks out just fine. Any ideas?
