Hi all!
Great to have such a nice looking and feeling forum created by some of my favourite tinkerers!
I'm Josh, Finnish/Canadian, born in Canada, 17 years in Papua New Guinea, and currently living in Finland. I run Atarian Computing and self-host my website. I started it in Canada in 1999 as a registered company. While my first love is Atari 16/32 bit line of computers, I've always loved classic Macs equally. As a matter of fact, I've maintained that the Colour Classic is the best ever looking computer. I've owned a few and currently have 3, two of which are under restoration and taken apart. While in Canada, I remember buying old Macs from various schools, Mac Pluses, Classics, various Mac II models, LC 575, several Apple IIc;s, Colour Classic, etc. I restored most and sold them off. This was 1999/2000.
My first ever contact with a computer was a C64 in PNG, of all places. It was 1985. I was hooked from that moment. Dad bought an XT the following year, still in PNG. Throughout the early nineties, the local international school (still in PNG) had several Macs and a couple of Apple IIe;s and an Atari STe that I frequently tinkered with. I was later offered the STe to buy from the school which Dad thankfully did. Ever since then I've been hooked on Ataris.
Anyway, I'm currently in Finland. Working for a multinational company and responsible for Azure AD. We have almost 10K employees so lots to do. I have little spare-time but whenever I do have some, I tinker.
Cheers!
Josh.
