I know you can daisy chain 3.5" floppy drives on your mac, but how many can be chained? I vaguely remember someone back in the day having more than 2 + internal on a plus, but I cant be sure. My googling isn't coming up with any answers.

Really? I always thought you could not daisy chain floppy drives on a Mac, each had to have its own port (unlike say the the Apple IIgs). Somewhere I recall reading the SE could support the most floppy drives, two internal and one external.
correct. Mac floppies you can't chain. Apple ][ floppy drives you CAN chain.
However, you can chain HD20's together and you can put a floppy drive at the end of a HD20 chain.

Yeah, only the later //c, IIc+, and IIgs can daisychain floppy drives, since they have the smartport setup. ][, ][+, and //e can have two drives off each controller card, if OEM Apple cards are used.
The Macs need to have each floppy drive connected to its own port, kinda like a disk ][ controller card.

It does not. The DB connectors it has is for SCSI and the monitor
