I felt this deserved a new thread since I'm pretty proud of this accomplishment, I created a replacement Internal Chassis (the part that holds the drives, speaker, power LED) for the extra-wide pizza box Macs such as the Centris/Quadra 610 & 660AV, Power Macintosh 6100/60, Workgroup Server 6150, Performa 6110CD, 6112CD, 6115CD, 6116CD, 6117CD, & 6118CD. I've only used it on a Performa 6116CD, but I am guessing it should work on those other models. I actually have two Performa 611XCDs and both arrived with a heavily damaged internal chassis. The first one I figured was from poor packaging, but the second one was from someone who did an excellent job packaging it and it still arrived heavily damaged. I even damaged their internal chassis further during disassembly, all the while taking care to try and not do that! I've been really wanting to get into 3D modeling and printing, so here I am. This is my first time 3D modeling something to print. Please be kind. :) I used Blender because I want to also use it for 3D modeling for game design.

I've uploaded the STL files to Thingiverse if you're interested: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6989132

I wish I'd your post over here first, I'd love to have a rework of this section as a Square -> Round duct converter for better airflow, with the blower mount at about the level of the ribs with a carrier for 2.5" HDD or BlueSCSI overtop the blower. Make for an nice bloweroni-SCSI-sandwich, that.

Do you have a link to the blower that you purchased? That's one of the things that I thought about doing but I was thinking of a one u server fan or a normal fan just tilted. A blower fan is a much better option than what I was thinking.

I'll dig up the info, hopefully still on eBay purchase list. Centrifugal blowers are far more efficient at moving air than bladed fans and throwing the flow at right angles is perfect for this. Outlet's pointed straight at G3 card heat sink and HPV card which conflicts with 3.5" HDD installation cubic anyway.

edit: Woo! Only two pages in, thought it was in the long ago.

It's perfect for a printed housing, it'll clip right into flanges on your ductwork. "Low noise" 20CFM to over pressure case/push more air thru
