Hello,
I am going to get a clamshell iBook G3 off of eBay but the PRAM battery is dead. Unlike some Macs, the PRAM battery is not that important and will still boot with a dead one. However, it can get kind of annoying having to set the time after every reboot, so is there any way the battery can be replaced with something like a reusable battery holder?

I checked and it is soldered in, but I don't know how to solder. Any tips on how to get started?

As per this archived Apple KB article, the iBook G3 does not have a PRAM battery. It uses a PRAM capacitor that stores enough juice to swap out the main battery without losing the contents of the PRAM. Is your iBook G3 main battery dead?

Oh, well my main battery is not working. Any idea on how to get my battery recelled or can someone do it for me? There were new 3rd-party batteries on NewEgg but have since been discontinued.
