I have an IIc and IIc Plus. I've seen @Javmast3r's video changing the B&W LCD from the original LCD kit for the IIc. However, those are in short supply and are getting expensive. iPad LCDs with control boards are cheap and relatively decent quality (e.g. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/400...1;47.99;-1;-1@salePrice;USD;search-mainSearch), and have composite video in. I think it would be cool if we could create a replica 3D printed version of the frame that would mount to the top of the IIc just like the original version, just with a more standard, high res 4:3 screen that is easily sourced.
Does anyone have one and 3d modeling skills to create the model, stretch the frame to fit the iPad LCD with mounting locations? I unfortunately don't have 3d modeling skills enough to make the frame with rounded edges, the apple logo, etc.
Should be possible to have the whole thing powered by a single cable from the DB15 connector with ground, 12v, and the composite video signal. I will probably whip up a DB15 connector to see if it can power the board and LCD, then start browsing Thingiverse for designs similar enough that maybe I can try to model up something. However, if anyone is a good 3d modeler, I certainly wouldn't deny help.
This feels like it could be a good use for the Platinum PLA that we've been talking about doing a group buy in the US for.
