Recently a Classic II came in for an audio issue. We sorted out the audio issue and were addressing the rest of the board. We found the EGRET chip needed some clean up. We removed the chip and found that many of the legs were very weak due to corrosion from capacitor leakage.
We went ahead and ground into the chip to fresh metal and restored the missing pins.
We were able to get everything connected, sealed the chip with epoxy.
