Hello! Does anyone have a .dsk file of MacWeb or MacWWW that would work on a Mac Plus 4mb? I spent hours yesterday looking and trying to unpack .sit files and it would be really convenient if someone could send me that. :D (Sorry if I’m doing something stupid. Just joined this forum).

What issues are you having? I just put MacWeb on my SE yesterday without any issues. What System version are you running? Are you planning on writing the image to a physical 800k disk or are you using something else to get it on the Mac?

Hello! I cannot unpack the .sit file from all the download links I could find. I'm running 7.1 on an HD20 and using a BMOW floppy drive emulator to load software. Do you have the virtual .dsk file that you can send to me? I struggled over this a lot yesterday. Thank you :D (edit: Also I tried using the available MacWWW .dsk files from the Macintosh Repository and Internet Archive, but upon loading them, I got an unimplemented trap system error.)

I got my SE online only just yesterday! I'll see if I can do that when I get home later today.

What version of Stuffit are you using? Also, I highly recommend using MacWeb 2.0 - seems a lot more stable when I was trying it. I got it from Macintosh Garden: https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/macweb
Thank you very much! From what I gather MacWeb 1 is what works on the plus. I was using Stuffit 4.4 and couldn't get any other version working on mini vMac or my real Mac. The software didn't want to recognize the file. Thank you so much! I'm amazed I got somebody who could do this so quickly :)

Let me know if this works for you.
Thank you very much! There is only one teensy problem. This iso file won't unpack for me, but I can drag it into mini vmac and it works. Is it possible you could send me the files within the iso raw? I'm sorry for being an inconvenience but that seems to be the best way for me to be able to get it onto my Mac.

It's not an ISO, it's a Disk Copy image (well, in a zip folder, so the forum would let me upload it). I think it should work directly if you put it on your floppy emulator, but I'm not 100% positive what format those require. The website says Disk Copy images should work, though. I can't send the raw files because resource forks and all that.

Ah, I understand. I'll try loading it onto my emu and see how it goes. Again, thank you so much.

Put it in the emu and it says "Disk image type is not supported in current emulation mode". I'm using the BMOW emu btw

Hmm. It sounded like those should work, but, I don't really know exactly what that emulator likes. Since it works in Mini vMac - are you able to mount both this image and a known-working .dsk image in vMac at the same time? Then you could copy them over there. If that doesn't work I'll see if I can try something else for you.

Using the vmac method worked! Thank you so so much for your help! (Is there any way to mark this as concluded or solved?)
