I've been mentioning this concept here and there for a month or two, but finally put together the start of a thread.

Baseline Radius MagicBus Adapter for non-accelerated SE with TPD card:

Pencil lines denote config of full size opening in chassis.

MagicBus integrated in Radius 16 accelerator:

MagicBus+ option, unfortunately there's only space for an either/or choice of interface connector, but I've got a small VidCard with SE PDS adapter to bodge together for a first test, if and when.

MagicBus+ implemented on the short section of a DDR-2 socket:

Target is a MicroMac Performer Clone supporting only SE and Plus to simplify the design.

This comp illustrates the notion, suggested it to zane for his project:

Substitute streamlined Performer for WarpSE, it will have Killy Klip/68000 and SE PDS interfaces implemented.

MagicBus+ is intended as a development platform and hopefully Radius FOD/TPD installation in the Mac Plus.

Comments, suggestions?

OK, played a bit at work and did a pasteup/doodle comp of exactly what I'm aiming to accomplish:

Physical interference precludes the possibility of installing both connectors due to chassis opening constraints and interference with the shroud on a MagicBus Card connector, but the thruholes for both can be lined up nicely.

Pitch of DDR-2 doesn't align but is workable and I seem to have found some header socket strips that can be installed in lieu of the out of production Radius connector.

That'd be a double row SIP installation with offset lines as opposed to this double row socket four row thruhole setup on the MagicBus Connector. Ironically, this the roughly same setup as the thruhole footprint of the DDR-2 connector. Go figure.

Anyway, that's the notion. @MacEffects and @Bolle are you reading this loud and clear?

Maybe not exactly . . . clearly . . .

Same and a bit new? Now running the PDS lines straight up through the FPU rather than introducing a fork in the road.

Now wondering if the SE can address the likes of the Radius Color Pivot II/si (in single bit B&W mode) on its PDS interrupt with the help of the 030 on Performer? With the proper adapter, maybe an LC NIC or an L2 Cache addition?

Before I run entirely off the rails here, comments/suggestions please! :)
