PB160 Display Recapping Woes

I recently decided to pick up a PowerBook 160 as my first vintage Mac, and started off by recapping it. I never really tested the screen before the recap as the pictures that I was shown in the eBay listing looked very similar to other machines that required it. Unfortunately it was a bigger task than I expected and while I was to complete it, it seems I've screwed up something else in the process. Given the hard drive was dead, I had never booted up the machine with the original HDD removed before attempting a recap of the screen (and had a BlueSCSI installed before I booted up the machine post-recapping.) Post recapping, half of the LCD goes clear/yellow as the machine boots up, while the other half of the screen remains quite dark (with contrast becoming better as you move to the sides.

I'm assuming I've messed up the LCD in some way, but decided I should probably ask before calling it.

That the drivers for the bottom half of the display are not engaged is definitely a panel issue - do you happen to have a photo of the rework you did? This recapping can also be tricky due to the amount of leaking from the caps and how extensive the spread can be, and thorough (and careful) cleaning with IPA is absolutely necessary; I've had to 're-clean' a few panel boards in the past to get the displays to work properly post re-cap.
Note there is an electrolytic cap on the inverter board that often leaks (two caps but one is polymer) - wouldn't be a factor in this, but just FYI

I'll go ahead and grab some pictures when I get home in a couple hours. Also going to re-clean the board and see if that helps at all.
