I have a Performa 630 and the other day it let out some magic smells without any smoke. Now the floppy will not read. I swapped another board in, and the floppy works on that board so it must be the board. I don’t see any visable damage on the board and the only wonkiness I’m noticing is 0L on c68. But I don’t think that’s in the floppy circuit. Can anyone help?

There's not a lot of love shown for the Performa 630, but it's a solid and reliable workhorse. Mine is my only permanently set up vintage system, and I use it regularly. Other than a CF replacement for the HD, and an ethernet card, it's exactly as it came from the factory. It does rather lack the great aesthetic of other Apple designs, but it just does what it says on the tin.

Good to see another one still out in the wild!
