Hi Y’all,

I have a PowerBook 2400c whose PRAM battery leaked on the main logic board. There was light corrosion along the path of the battery wires. I removed all of the visible (blue-green) corrosion that was visible under microscope with IPA, cotton buds, toothbrush and dental probe. There are two vias where I could see corrosion. The vias are so small that the only instrument small enough to poke through was a single strand wire from a multi-strand. It makes the sound of breaking glass approximately 1 second after the startup chime. Flipping the ROM toggle switches results in no boot. My guess is that ROM passes and the RAM is failing.

1) Do you foresee any harm in ultrasonic bath / cleaning the main logic board?
2) Any schematics or trace maps available? (Neither Google nor Archive.org revealed any sources.)

I welcome your input.

Thanks,
Bama
