Powerbook screen image flickers once after a reboot, otherwise white screen

I have a Powerbook 145B.

- One year ago, the screen was working but was super ugly (cap problem).

- This week, the screen has been (ugly) white without any image.

- Therefore, I have opened and recapped the screen board. The screen is now perfectly white but still no image.

****But**** if I shutdown the laptop and restarts it immediately, the screen flickers for a second and shows the real image/content. It's like the screen doesn't update the content except for one second after a reboot.

The screen PCB board doesn't seem to have any problem. The caps pads were bad but I have cleaned them up and replaced all the caps.

Any idea what's going on and how I could fix this screen?

The one-second flicker shows that the screen can work but there is something wrong as the content is not updated.

PS: Perhaps the problem is with the laptop mother board, not the screen.

Don't underestimate the value of a very thorough cleaning. It can solve a lot of problems. Already cleaned it? Do it again! Both sides of the board. Check for bad traces/shorts anywhere. Could be one leg on a chip that isn't making good contact that's causing the display not to refresh as it should.

Thank you for your help. It turns out that the luminosity was at the maximum and the screen was then all white!!! At least, I have now a working (recapped-screen) PowerBook 145B.
