Hi everyone,

This query actually applies across compact, Mac II, Quadra and PowerPC machines (in my particular case, NuBus examples).

What is the general received wisdom on keeping PSUs 'warm' with live input power (although with the Macintosh not running) for machines that are used every few days? Does this shorten the life of the PSU, or is it better than 'switching them on and off at the wall' (in the UK) or pulling the power plug (presumably, other territories) and only allowing current to flow when the machine is actually being used?

It suddenly struck me when I was gazing across my collection, all plugged into the wall, ready to boot at a moment's notice whenever the keyboard power button is pressed...!

Many thanks

Mark
