Hi guys,

I'm interested in buying a Macintosh SE/30 (again). The last one had a battery cancer and the motherboard was ruined.

1. This one, when powered up, shows the little floppy with a question mark. Is it enough to be certain that the motherboard is OK (and the CRT) ?

2. On the back, one can see what seems to be an additional card: Radius Full Page Display. May I have problem removing this card ?

I have just photos. I don't have access to the machine. Am I too suspicious ? Should I go for it ?

Getting the floppy with question mark is a pretty good sign that the motherboard is not yet ruined. There is a small chance that there is a problem with the SWIM if booting from floppy or the SCSI controller if booting from HDD, but it is more likely that the HDD no longer works and they don't have a boot floppy.

As for the Radius Full Page display, it looks like only the backing plate is there, as the monitor connector is missing. Most likely the card that goes in the PDS slot itself is gone too.

Thank you
Indeed the seller has no boot disk.
Let's hope the battery will hold a bit more. Maybe i's been replaced.
